Research

I began my case study with a brand analysis of JM Upholstery, learning about its competitors and customer demographics along the way.

Target Audience Demographic

JM Upholstery demographics are decorators and architects with knowledge about design and decoration.

Interviews and Observations

After a couple of days of research to understand our core users’ environment, we have a major task to accomplish. We interviewed a few participants and gathered data on their workflow and major challenges. This data helps us find opportunities to solve problems.

Understanding the user

1 Users want to see the whole catalog in a concise and visual format that is easy to understand.

2 Most of the clients are required to observe the sides of the chairs to decide the correct design that fits their needs.

3 During the process of design, it’s essential, to have the model of the piece in plain white upholstery to choose the appropriate color, texture, or pattern that matches perfectly with the whole concept of the environment. 

4 It’s essential that the website fit in an iPad size. Because it is the most used tool to browse the whole catalog during the visits of clients at the store.
